Dear Member,
In the letter dated 03.03.2025 and numbered 2236, sent to our Chamber from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye,
It has been determined that awards or certificates have recently been awarded by certain individuals or legal entities through mutually beneficial organizations organized for the purposes of awards, reputation, career, consumer trust, and similar purposes, in exchange for a certain amount of payment or donation. These awards, which are not based on any objective criteria or measurement, are used in advertisements to build consumer trust, thus misleading consumers. It is stated that due diligence must be exercised in ensuring that awards are given without any perceived benefit and in accordance with pre-announced objective criteria, that juries competent in their respective fields are formed to award awards, and that legal regulations are complied with to prevent unfair competition in the advertising sector.
In this context, it is strongly announced that the awards received and given must be arranged in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Commercial Advertising and Unfair Commercial Practices Regulation and the Consumer Awards Regulation.
Best regards.
