As part of the "Pistachio Grafting Project," which has been underway since 2003, Çanakkale's first pistachio processing and packaging facility has been opened in Şapköy Village, Ayvacık. The facility, established in collaboration with the Ayvacık District Governorship and the South Marmara Development Agency, will process and package pistachios in the villages of Ahmetçe, Sazlı, İlyasfakı, Kuruoba, Büyükhusun, Şapköy, Erecek, and Küçükçetmi. Located on property number 9, island 131, and owned by the Şapköy Village Legal Entity, the Pistachio Processing and Packaging Facility has a daily processing capacity of 5 tons of pistachios and almonds. This facility will provide producers with the opportunity to sell their products at higher prices by processing them.
