In the letter dated 23.10.2024 and numbered 11642, sent to our Chamber from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye,

With the transition of the countries party to the Common Transit Agreement to NCTS Phase 5, the Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI) Number will be included in the carrier identification number field in transit declarations under the common transit regime, the validity of the declared EORI number will be checked automatically in the background through the system, and the "EORI Matching Guide" was sent, and it was stated that it is important to match EORI numbers and tax numbers in order to ensure that our carriers do not suffer.

This time, in the letter dated 21.10.2024 and numbered 41907 received from the General Directorate of Customs of the Ministry of Trade, it is stated that as of 04.11.2024, transit declaration registration will not be allowed without declaring the EORI number for foreign carriers and the tax numbers for which the EORI matching has been done for carriers resident in our country. Therefore, it is emphasized that it is important for our carriers to complete the tax number and EORI number matching processes before 04.11.2024 in order to avoid any problems and grievances.
