Regarding HKS Organic Agriculture and Good Agriculture Notifications.

Dear Member,

In the letter dated 21.07.2025 and numbered 8234, sent to our Chamber from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye,

In the first paragraph of Article 8 of Law No. 5957 on the Regulation of Trade in Fruits and Vegetables and Other Goods with Sufficient Depth of Supply and Demand, it is stated that a market duty of one percent will be collected from goods sold in wholesale markets and two percent from goods sold outside the wholesale market. However, unless otherwise decided by the President, market duty will not be collected from certified products in raw, semi-finished or finished form produced in accordance with the principles of organic farming activities within the scope of Organic Agriculture Law No. 5262 and from products certified within the scope of good agricultural practices.

In this context, to avoid paying market duty, to prevent products not produced using organic or good agricultural methods from being reported to the Market Registration System as organic or good agricultural products, and to prevent purchase notifications made without the knowledge of producers producing organic or good agricultural products, the first notifications regarding organic/good agricultural products will be made by producers of these products, starting August 1, 2025. Subsequent notifications will be made by the purchasers of the goods.

Best regards.
