In the letter dated 12.02.2024 and numbered 1516, sent to our Chamber from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye,

With reference to the decision of the Central Bank of Iraq dated 20.07.2023 and numbered 9/2/414, it was announced that it was previously notified that various banks were prohibited from using US dollars in banking services.

The article continued by stating that 8 more banks were added to the list of financial institutions prohibited from conducting transactions in US Dollars on the official website of the Central Bank of Iraq on 04.02.2024, and that it would be beneficial to direct customers to the Baghdad Trade Counsellor's Office for detailed information on the subject.
