Referring to the letter received from our Moscow Trade Counsellor's Office, it is reported that social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn have been categorized as radical or undesirable organizations by the Russian Federation due to their information security policies, and that although access to these platforms has been restricted, the aforementioned platforms continue to provide advertising and announcement services throughout the country in their promotional activities.

The article continues by stating that a law titled "Law on Amendments to the Law on Combating Radical Activities and the Law on Advertising" was adopted by the legislative bodies of the Russian Federation on March 25, 2025. According to the amendment to the law, advertising on social media platforms that have the status of undesirable organizations or are declared radical in the Russian Federation will be prohibited and that administrative fines will be imposed on individuals or organizations that advertise on such platforms with the aforementioned regulation. It is stated that the amendment will enter into force on September 1, 2025, if approved by the President.

It is also stated that you should contact our Moscow Trade Counsellor's Office for additional information.

Best regards.
