Announcement Regarding Fraudulent Activities - Ghana

Dear Member,

In the letter dated 26.11.2024 and numbered 12892, sent to our Chamber from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye,

It has been reported that some of our citizens, as well as Turkish and Ghanaian citizens, who went to Ghana for individual trade and investment purposes within the scope of the gold trade have been subjected to fraud attempts.

The article continues by stating that our citizens who go to Ghana for this purpose do not coordinate with the Embassy and the Commercial Counsellor's Office and continue their activities with incomplete/incorrect information, and as a result, they may experience processes such as being defrauded, being detained by the Ghanaian authorities or being brought before the Ghanaian Courts.

The announcement text prepared by the Accra Embassy and the Accra Trade Counsellor's Office to warn our business community against such situations and to prevent similar problems from occurring is attached.

Best regards.
