The “Sericology Exhibition”, organized with the support of the Greek Consulate in Edirne, in partnership with our Chamber and the Federation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants of the Soufli Regional Union of Greece, was held in the Conference Hall of our Chamber.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, which was attended by Greek Consul in Edirne Aris Radiopoulos, Deputy Governor of the Thrace Region of North Macedonia Fani Bacharidou, Deputy Mayor of Soufli Mpaltzis Georgios, President of the Soufli Region Tradesmen and Craftsmen Association Thodoris Tsiamitas, representatives of institutions and organizations, valuable guests from our neighboring country Greece, members of our Chamber and our citizens, our Chairman of the Board of Directors Sezai Irmak stated that we have many common cultures and traditions with Greece and that the history of sericulture dates back to very old times in Edirne.

Following the speeches, Historian Mihalis Patelis gave a presentation on the history of sericulture and the photo exhibition titled “Silk Images” of the Thrace Creative Photography Center (Dedeagac, Greece) in the foyer was visited.

The Sericulture Exhibition will be open to visitors in the foyer area of our Chamber on Sunday, June 2, 2024, and a workshop on how silk cocoon flowers are made will be held between 11:00 and 13:00 on Sunday morning. All our people are invited.
