The opening ceremony of the Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling Festival, which was held for the 663rd time this year, was attended by our Chamber's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Sezai Irmak, and our Board of Directors Treasurer, Mustafa Yılmaz.

The ceremony, which was held with the participation of Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer, Edirne Mayor Filiz Gencan Akın, Kırkpınar Ağa Seyfettin Selim, Turkey Traditional Wrestling Federation President İbrahim Türkiş, representatives of public institutions and organizations and wrestling fans from all over the world, continued with the official parade of the wrestlers who will participate in the wrestling competitions after the opening speeches.

The exhibition "Kırkpınar Respect to Ata" by Radife Ot, a master instructor in the art of "Hand Maraş Embroidery", was visited.

Reflecting the deep-rooted heritage of Turkish sports with its thousands of years of history, the Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling will end with the head wrestler final to be held on July 7 at the Sarayiçi Er Meydanı.
