The Trakya-Edirne Karaçalı Honey Geographical Indication Workshop was organized in collaboration with the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Edirne Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Edirne Governorship, Trakya University, Hacettepe University, and under the leadership of our Chamber.

The workshop, which began with a speech by our Chairman of the Board Sezai Irmak, continued with speeches by the Governor of Edirne, Yunus Sezer, the Edirne Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, İslam Köse, and the Head of the Livestock Policies and Support Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Melikşah Taşkın.

The workshop, which featured distinguished academics, representatives from the beekeeping sector, and prominent figures from public institutions as speakers, addressed numerous topics related to Thrace-Edirne Karaçalı Honey, ranging from its production plan and scientific characteristics to the geographical indication process and its potential contribution to the regional economy. Furthermore, technical analyses and presentations highlighted the strategic importance of Thrace-Edirne Karaçalı Honey on a regional and national scale, while emphasizing the significance of its international branding.
